Clear cached data and reload the most up-to-date version of a page in Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.
A hard refresh forces your web browser to clear the cached version of a page and download the latest files from the server. This is helpful when recent updates to DriverHub or other web apps don’t appear immediately, or when a page isn’t loading correctly.
Follow the steps below for your preferred browser to perform a hard refresh.
Google Chrome (Windows & macOS)
-
Open the page you want to refresh.
-
On Windows/Linux, press Ctrl + F5 or Shift + F5.
-
On macOS, press Command + Shift + R.
-
Alternatively, you can open Developer Tools with F12 or Ctrl + Shift + I, then right-click the reload icon next to the address bar and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload.”
Microsoft Edge (Windows & macOS)
-
Open the page you want to refresh.
-
On Windows, press Ctrl + F5 or Shift + F5.
-
On macOS, press Command + Shift + R.
-
You can also open Developer Tools (F12), right-click the Reload icon, and choose “Empty Cache and Hard Reload.”
Safari (macOS)
-
Open the page you want to refresh.
-
Hold down Option + Command + E to empty the cache.
-
Then press Command + R to reload the page.
-
If Develop mode is not enabled, go to Safari > Settings > Advanced, and check “Show Develop menu in menu bar.” Once enabled, you can click Develop > Empty Caches before reloading.
Mozilla Firefox (Windows & macOS)
-
Open the page you want to refresh.
-
On Windows/Linux, press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R.
-
On macOS, press Command + Shift + R.
-
This clears the cached content for that page and reloads it from the server.
Additional Info / Troubleshooting Tips:
-
If a hard refresh doesn’t fix the issue, try clearing your browser’s full cache in the settings menu.
-
Ensure you’re using the latest browser version for best results.
-
Close and reopen the tab if the page still doesn’t update.
